Introduction:-
Library is regarded as heart and soul of an educational institution. A Library plays a vital role in the search of knowledge. It serves as the workshop for the entire college, students and faculty alike. M. M. Jagtap College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Library aims to support the teaching learning activity in the college and also provide the students updated knowledge and to ensure the optimum utilization of the available resources.
We are committed to restore, maintain collection of resources as per the requirements of students, faculty for their ease of study and education.

The library is a getaway of information and educational resources .Our aim is to provide updated information and resources to learning community of college. The library is too committed to the support overall vision, mission and programs of the M. M. Jagtap College and Mumbai university.
A college library is a department within a college where students, staff, and other user have access to build knowledge with the help of various resources. The goal of the college library is to ensure that all members of the college community have equitable access to books and reading, to information, and to information technology. A college library uses all types of media for information gathering. College libraries are distinct from other libraries because they serve as, learner-oriented libraries which support, extend, and individualize the universities curriculum. A college library serves as the centre and coordinating agency for all material used in the college.
Read for spreading knowledge, humanity and user satisfaction. Our library vision to provide every possible latest information to the user in his/her interest. College has a library established in 2009 with adequate number of facilities to create good teaching and learning environment. Our library is well equipped with reference, text books, magazines, journal & newspaper etc. Open access system for the teachers and third year students.
Future plans of the library:-
- To connect library and students with the online digital library.
- To automated circulation and bar coding of the all reading material.
- To enrich the collection of arts, commerce and science reference book in Marathi, English, Hindi and Urdu languages.

To provide information sources necessary for teaching learning process in the subjects, fields of interest in the college.

LIBRARY RULES:-
- The library remains open from 9.00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.
- Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using the library resources.
- Every student is entitled to get library card for borrowing books from the library.
- Library card and books will be issued to the students only on the production of individual identity card/library ticket.
- Only two books can be issue on one library card.
- Books will be issued for 3 days at a time.
- In case the book is damaged or lost, then the students will be required to pay double the original cost. In case of rare books, three times the cost will be charged. Students should not make any mark or underline anywhere in the book.
- In case of emergency the librarian may recall a book at any time.
- Strict silence, decorum and discipline must be maintained
- Silence to be maintained.
- No discussion permitted inside the library
- No personal belongings allowed inside the library
- Using Mobile phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
- No library material can be taken out of the library without permission of library incharge.
Circulation Issue System :
Books will be issued on presentation of the library card along with the smart card. Students are instructed to check the books while borrowing and they will be responsible for any type of damage or mutilation noticed at the time of return.
Overdue Charges :
Books will be issued to the students for 3 days only. In the first page slip is pasted and stamped mentioning the due date and the fine will be charged @ Re.2 per day per book from the due date till the book is returned to library.
Book Lost :
If the books are lost, then the borrower shall replace the books of the same edition or latest edition or pay double cost of the book after getting permission from the librarian.
Care of library borrower cards :
Take special care to maintain the library borrower cards.
Do not fold, alter entries made on the cards, Members are responsible for the entire set of library borrower card issued to them.
Loss of cards :
Loss of borrower card should be reported to the librarian in writing. After checking the borrowing register they will be issued a fresh replacement card on a payment of Rs.25/- per card.
Validity of cards :
Library borrower cards are valid for the respective academic year only and fresh cards will be issued for each year.
At the end of the academic year borrower cards shall be returned to the library.
No due Certificate:
Each student shall obtain No dues certificate from the library after returning all the books issued, surrendering the borrower’s cards and after paying outstanding dues, if any.
Care of Library Books:
Students are required to handle the books/Journal very carefully; marking with pencil, writing or highlighting, tearing the pages or mutilating the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously. In such case reader shall be held responsible unless these are brought to the notice of the library staff at the time of issue.
Chain System for MPSC/UPSC Aspirant:
College library has provided facility of Chain System for students preparing for competitive exams like MPSC/UPSC. College has MoU with Mulchand Ramnarayan sheth Karawa Library, Mahad for provided competitive exam books and other related reference books.
